Diagnosis

Risk for unstable blood pressure related to excess catecholamine production from pheochromocytoma.

Goals

Patient will maintain stable blood pressure within normal limits. Patient will demonstrate understanding of the importance of medication adherence and follow-up care.

Interventions

Administer prescribed alpha- and beta-blockers to control blood pressure and monitor for effectiveness. Educate patient on the signs and symptoms of hypertensive crises and the importance of seeking immediate medical attention. Encourage regular follow-up appointments with the healthcare provider. Monitor for signs of complications such as hypertensive emergencies or cardiac arrhythmias.

Rationale

These interventions aim to control blood pressure, prevent complications, and ensure patient safety.

Evaluation

Patient’s blood pressure and adherence to the treatment plan will be monitored during follow-up visits.
