Our Commitment
Nurses Compass is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to ensure that our educational content and tools are usable by everyone, regardless of ability or technology.
Accessibility Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
What We Do
We make ongoing efforts to improve accessibility across our site, including:
- Using semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
- Providing text alternatives for images and visual content
- Ensuring keyboard navigation support throughout the site
- Maintaining sufficient color contrast ratios for readability
- Designing responsive layouts that work across devices and screen sizes
- Using clear, descriptive link text and heading hierarchy
Known Limitations
While we work to ensure accessibility, some areas of our site may have limitations:
- The EKG Simulator and 3D Hospital Room use interactive visual elements that may not be fully accessible to screen readers
- Some older content may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria
- Third-party content (such as advertisements) may not be within our control
We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility over time.
