Diagnosis

Goals
Patient's serum calcium levels will return to normal range. Patient will report relief from symptoms associated with hypercalcemia.
Interventions
Monitor serum calcium levels regularly. Administer IV fluids and diuretics as prescribed to promote calcium excretion. Educate patient on avoiding calcium-rich foods and supplements. Administer bisphosphonates or calcitonin as prescribed.
Rationale
These interventions help reduce calcium levels in the blood and prevent complications such as cardiac arrhythmias.
