Goals

Interventions
Administer bronchodilators and corticosteroids as prescribed and monitor for side effects. Encourage patient to use pursed-lip breathing and other techniques to improve breathing efficiency. Educate patient on the importance of smoking cessation and avoiding respiratory irritants. Monitor oxygen saturation and provide supplemental oxygen as needed.
