Interventions
Monitor symptoms and administer prescribed medications to relieve symptoms (e.g., decongestants, antibiotics). Encourage adequate fluid intake and use of humidifiers to thin mucus and promote drainage. Educate patient on the importance of completing the full course of antibiotics if prescribed. Encourage use of saline nasal sprays or irrigation to clear nasal passages.
