Diagnosis

Goals

Patient will maintain hemodynamic stability and be free from signs of active bleeding. Patient will verbalize understanding of dietary and medication regimen to prevent gastrointestinal bleeding.

Interventions

Monitor vital signs and assess for signs of bleeding and shock. Administer prescribed proton pump inhibitors and hemostatic agents. Educate patient on avoiding foods and substances that may exacerbate bleeding, such as NSAIDs and alcohol. Prepare patient for endoscopic evaluation and treatment if necessary.

Evaluation
