Diagnosis

Risk for decreased cardiac output related to obstructed blood flow through the aorta.

Goals

Patient will maintain blood pressure within normal limits. Patient will demonstrate understanding of the disease process and treatment options.

Interventions

Monitor blood pressure in all extremities regularly. Educate patient on the signs and symptoms of heart failure and the importance of follow-up care. Prepare patient and family for potential surgical intervention. Administer antihypertensive medications as prescribed.

Rationale

Early detection and management of blood pressure can prevent complications. Education ensures patient understanding and compliance.

Evaluation

Monitor for improvement in blood pressure and symptoms. Follow-up with cardiologist for further evaluation.
